"I am aware of the responsibility to ensure an efficient administration," Spranger told the "Berliner Morgenpost" (Saturday). "That's why up to five new citizens' offices are to be opened, 100 additional employees assigned to the citizens' offices are to be hired and a pool of employees is to be set up to fill in when staff shortages occur."

Senator of the Interior Iris Spranger (SPD) has announced significant improvements in the services offered by the citizens' offices.
"14-day task force" set up
The situation in the citizens' offices has repeatedly caused trouble, not least during the Corona pandemic. At times, appointments could only be made a long time in advance and not within 14 days, as the Senate believes they should be. In the meantime, Spranger has set up a "14-day task force" that is supposed to draw up binding concepts and decisions by March 2023, as the newspaper further reports. This also includes the locations of the new citizens' offices.
