Nan Goldin: This Will Not End Well

Nan Goldin: This Will Not End Well

Nan Goldin, Picnic on the Esplanade, Boston, 1973

Stories about love, intimacy, addiction and loss: the exhibition "This Will Not End Well" at the Neue Nationalgalerie presents a retrospective of the extraordinary photographer and filmmaker Nan Goldin.

Goldin's works tell stories about love, addiction and loss. With tender snapshots of intimacy and relationships, of everyday life, wild parties and the struggle between addiction and independence, Goldin continues to shape perceptions of her time to this day.

Works by Nan Goldin's on Show in Berlin

In the upper hall of the Neue Nationalgalerie, si exhibitions rooms show the works of Nan Goldin accompanied by sound and music. By focusing on slideshows and video installations, the exhibition goes back to the roots of Goldin's artistic practice. Goldin, who always wanted to be a filmmaker, understands the slideshows as film stills. "This Will Not End Well" is the first time that Goldin takes up her original vision of how viewers should experience her art.
