The extensive and varied programme proves that 1924 was a good year for the silent film landscape. Buster Keaton, Emil Jannings, Greta Garbo, Florence Vidor, Douglas Fairbanks, Betty Bronson and other great names in the art of film appear in the 25 films that will be shown during this year's festival.

Among others. the following films will be shown on the screen:

  • «The Thief of Bagdad» by Raoul Walsh
  • «Michael» by Carl Theodor Dreyer
  • «Quo Vadis?» by Gabrellino d’Annunzio
  • «Die Nibelungen I – Siegfrieds Tod» by Fritz Lang
  • «Das Wachsfigurenkabinett» by Paul Leni
All silent films are accompanied live by musicians. A special highlight is the performance of ‘Die Stadt ohne Juden’ by H.K. Breslauer, which will be accompanied live by klezmer violinist Alicia Svigals and pianist Donald Sosin.
