Every summer, Berlin is transformed into a stronghold of poetry for a week. Over 150 poets and artists from all over the world come to the Berlin Poetry Festival (Poesiefestival Berlin) and present current trends in contemporary poetry.

In addition to literature, poetry has long sought out other forms of presentation and is present in contemporary theater, performance, music, dance, film, and digital media. The Poesiefestival Berlin brings poetry to life in all its diverse and exciting forms and shows the power and source of inspiration that poetry possesses. It draws attention to the art of language, breaks new ground in presentation, publication and distribution, and achieves worldwide recognition. Directors of poetry festivals from all over the world also meet here. The festival will take place for the 27th time in 2026.
