For ten days, the Komische Oper Festival offers the opportunity to experience all the new opera productions of the season in a row.
Since its founding in 1892, the Komische Oper Berlin has been an opera company that gives both parts of the concept of "musical theater" equal weight. The aim is to create productions in which the individual art forms do not fight or clash, but rather come together in a mutually dependent way. All the artists involved join forces to work towards the common goal: to offer lively, contemporary, exciting theater every evening.
At the end of the operate season, the Komische Oper invites visitors to review the new opera productions of the season. The week-long Komische Oper Festival also offers an extensive supporting program, which includes an introductory lecture before each performance, followed by a panel discussion.
