The trio from Montreal construct architecture from ruin, guitars and percussive textures shivering together in configurations so tight they blur between whisper and roar. For this show, they'll be performing their upcoming album in grief or in hope.
Kuntari’s sound is birthed in primal-core tectonics where Tesla Manaf and Rio Abror conjure horizons of wild sound and complex drums entangling into the rhythm of blood pounding in your ears. Their path from jazz orthodoxy into raw ceremonial form drags Indonesian heritage into a fusion of microtonal chimes and dense, earthbound textures.
