The pavilion, with floor-to-ceiling shop windows, opened onto Karl-Marx-Allee and Frankfurter Tor. Internal blinds once protected the goods from sunlight. The design concept of all retail pavilions included external coloured awnings on the south and/or east sides.

The shoe shop’s many seats were located in the retail area and the extensive gallery on the upper floor. The two retail areas are still connected by the open staircase today.

The retail pavilion once sold shoes and leather goods. Besides the main storage area in the cellar and various function rooms, the upper floor even housed three pedicure cabins.
