Under the motto "Our World. Our Heritage. Our Responsibility," Berlin is celebrating Unesco World Heritage Day with exciting activities.

The Unesco World Heritage Day offers a look behind the scenes of the world's most extraordinary buildings. 51 of the world's 1,157 World Heritage Sites are located in Germany, 3 of them in Berlin: Museum Island, the six Berlin Modernist housing estates, and the palaces and parks of Potsdam and Berlin.

Unesco World Heritage Day 2024: Selected Highlights*

  • Open show apartment on the 10th floor of the tower at Frankfurter Tor. The show apartment is furnished with furniture classics from the GDR. It can be viewed free of charge between 4 and 7 pm.
  • Guided tour through the Zehlendorf forest settlement. The so-called “Parrot Settlement” has been proposed as a World Heritage Site. The free guided tour on architecture, urban planning, monument preservation, building and urban history starts at 10 am.
  • Cityscape Safari: On a seven-hour bus tour, participants will visit the future World Heritage districts in Berlin. The tour starts at 10 am.
