Education Senator: Most students wear masks voluntarily

Corona und Schulen

After the end of the mask mandate at Berlin schools, the Senate reported that many students continue to wear masks voluntarily. The mask obligation ended on Friday (April 01, 2022).

"Most students still wore them," said Senator for Education Astrid-Sabine Busse (SPD) on Monday (April 04, 2022) on rbb Inforadio. Busse strongly recommended that masks continue to be worn.

Daily Coronavirus tests after the Easter holidays

Busse announced that, during the week after the Easter holidays, students would probably be tested for Coronavirus daily in schools again. In addition, she said they would probably be handed self tests before the holidays so that they could test themselves at home at the end of the holidays. "We've had success with this method before," Busse said. She went on to say that Berlin schools have now handed out 40 million Coronavirus tests. "We still have millions of tests that can easily suffice until the summer holidays," Busse added.
