The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has risen slightly oce again. According to data by the Robert Koch Institute, the incidence was at around 1067 on Wednesday (March 23, 2022).
On Tuesday, the number of registered infections in the past seven days per 100,000 inhabitants had fallen to just under 1000. Berlin continues to show the second lowest incidence of all federal states after Hamburg and is significantly below the national average of around 1734.
Experts assume that a high number of cases are not officially recorded. They see reasons in the overloading of health offices and in the fact that many infections are no longer confirmed via a PCR test.
The Berlin health offices reported 11,525 new infections within one day.8 new deaths related to the virus were reported, bringing the total to 4332 since the start of the pandemic.
