At its meeting next Tuesday, the Berlin Senate intends to decide on the abolition of the fixed upper limit of spectators for large indoor events.
In the future, 60 percent of the capacities may thus be used in principle, without a limit of a maximum of 6000 people, as the health administration announced on Friday. Previously, the rbb had reported on it. Actually, the federal government and the states had agreed on February 16 that with a maximum utilization of 60 percent, the limit of 6000 people may not be exceeded.
If the Senate passes this new rule on Tuesday, it is expected to come into force from March 4. Then major events could be held in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, for example, with 10,200 people. Bundesliga matches could also be played in the capital in front of significantly more spectators.
