Novavax vaccinations in Berlin from Monday

Corona-Impfung

Vaccinations with the vaccine by the US manufacturer Novavax are planned to be offered in Berlin from Monday.

This was announced by the Senate Department for Health on Friday (February 25, 2022). The Novavax vaccine, called Nuvaxovid, will be offered in the state-owned vaccination centers in Tegel and in the vaccination drive-thru in Lichtenberg. The first shipment of Nuvaxovid was expected to arrive on Friday. Nuvaxovid is a so-called dead vaccine - it does not contain any genetic information such as mRNA or DNA.

"Berlin can finally start with Novavax vaccinations"

Appointments for vaccinations from Monday (2 PM) can reportedly be booked online via Doctolib from Friday afternoon. "Finally, Berlin can start with Novavax vaccinations. I am happy about every single person who decides to get vaccinated thanks to this new vaccine," said Senator for Health Ulrike Gote. Berlin will initially receive 63,000 vaccine doses from Novavax. About half of these are planned to be distributed to the vaccination sites in Tegel and Lichtenberg. The other half will be distributed to other sites such as general practitioners' and specialist doctors' offices, pharmacies, and hospitals in Berlin.
