In Berlin, the number of new Covid infections has increased.
According to the Robert Koch Institute, 9397 new infections were reported by Friday morning (Feb. 25, 2022). On Thursday, there were about 7400. The seven-day incidence thus increased to 1137.3. The day before, it was still at 1077.4, about the same level as on Wednesday. The figure indicates the number of new infections reported per 100,000 people within seven days. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 727,110 infections have been reported in Berlin. 15 more death in connection with an infection were reported, bringing the total of Covid-related deaths in Berlin to 4242 so far.
The so-called hospitalization rate, which refers to the number of Corona patients per 100,000 inhabitants who were hospitalized within seven days, fell slightly again. According to the situation report of the Berlin Senate, it was at 18.5 on Friday morning, down from 20.9 on Thursday. The corresponding traffic light of the Berlin Corona warning system remains on red. The signal for the occupancy of intensive care units with Corona patients remains on yellow.
