Over 11,000 Covid infections recorded: incidence continues to fall

Corona-Test

The number of reported Corona infections in Berlin remains at a high level.

Incidence is at 1118

The city's health departments registered 11,531 infections within one day, as the Berlin health administration announced on Wednesday (Feb. 16, 2022). In each of the previous two weeks, the number of new infections had been above 12,000, but on Tuesday only 5630 infections were recorded. The seven-day incidence was at 1118 on Wednesday, down from 1135.2 the previous day. The figure indicates how many infections are reported per 100,000 inhabitants in a week.

Positive rapid tests not currently recorded

On Tuesday, the Reinickendorf public health officer Patrick Larscheid stated on the TV news program "RBB Abendschau" that the Senate's situation report no longer correctly reflects the events. The statistics did not include the results of positive rapid tests, and health authorities often did not report Coronavirus infections at all, or only after a delay, he said.
