Coronavirus incidence sharply increases again

In Berlin, the incidence of Coronavirus infections has risen again. The capital city thus continues to have the highest incidence of all German states.

According to data provided by the Robert Koch Institute on Wednesday morning (Jan. 26, 2022), there were 1795.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. The incidence in Bremen also reached more than 1500 on Wednesday, while the nationwide incidence was at 940.6. In the last 24 hours, 17,412 new Corona infections and six new deaths were registered in Berlin. The total number of infections thus rose to 485 323, and the number of deaths related to Coronavirus to 4094.

Hospitalization rate stagnates

An average of 16.8 per 100,000 people came to the hospital for treatment in the last seven days, the health administration announced on Wednesday. The corresponding traffic light of the Senate's warning system is still on red. When it comes to the occupancy of intensive care units with Corona patients, it still shows a yellow signal. Occupancy is currently at 18 percent and has been relatively constant.
