Berlin extends Coronavirus aid for culture and media sector

In light of the ongoing pandemic, Berlin has decided to extend Coronavirus aid for cultural institutions and media companies.

Emergency aid IV to be extended until March 2022

The so-called Emergency IV aid is now to be extended in its seventh edition until the end of March 2022. The culture and media sector has been particularly hard hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, a statement on Tuesday explained (Jan. 25, 2022). Possible further restrictions are to be expected in the coming months. The emergency grants are intended to help overcome liquidity bottlenecks - up to 500,000 euros will be granted for this purpose. Funding is available for small and medium-sized cultural enterprises and media companies with annual sales of up to ten million euros. Eligible applicants include private museums, theaters, clubs, cinemas, and film companies.
