Admission without test only for people with three vaccinations

Thus, only people with three vaccinations (full vaccination + booster vaccination) and fully vaccinated or recovered people with a negative test are allowed access to restaurants, pubs or cafes (2G plus). According to information provided by the German Press Agency, the Berlin Senate approved these new rules at its meeting on Tuesday (January 11, 2022), thus implementing the agreements of the federal-state summit of last Friday. Until today, the 2G rule applied in restaurants in Berlin, according to which patrons had to be either fully vaccinated or recovered.

Sharp increase in Coronavirus incidence in Berlin

The reason for the renewed tightening of the Coronavirus measures is the spread of the particularly contagious Omicron variant and the significant increase in the number of infections. According to data provided by the Robert Koch Institute, the incidence of Coronavirus infections across Berlin was 737.2 on Tuesday. In the days before, the incidence was still below 700. Berlin now ranks second in a comparison of the infection incidence of the German federal states. Only Bremen had a higher incidence on Tuesday. The national average of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was just under 388.
