The previous day, the Coronavirus incidence in Berlin was still above 280, according to the Senate's situation report. The figure indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the past seven days.

However, only data from three districts was available on Sunday. Additionally, the Senate pointed out that during the holidays and at the turn of the year, lower testing and reporting activity is to be expected: "The case numbers presented therefore have limited validity." This must be taken into account when assessing the current pandemic situation. According to the report, only the districts of Neukölln, Spandau and Treptow-Köpenick reported a few dozen new cases of infection each on Saturday, 73 altogether. No new deaths related to Covid-19 were reported.

According to the report, 4016 people have died in Berlin in connection with a Coronavirus infection since the beginning of the pandemic. In total, there have been 331,305 registered Covid infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.
