Wegner plans trip to Tokyo: 30 years of city partnership

Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner is planning a trip to the Japanese capital Tokyo in May 2024.

This was announced by the CDU politician on Tuesday. The occasion is the 30th anniversary of the city partnership between Berlin and Tokyo, as the Senate Chancellery announced. "I would like to maintain and expand the city partnership with Tokyo," said the Governing Mayor. "Berlin and Tokyo have many common themes, for example in supporting start-ups or expanding science." According to current plans, Wegner will be accompanied by a business delegation on his trip to Japan.
