Police warns about fake e-mails by the fines office

The Berlin police is warning citizens about fake e-mails with alleged appointment confirmations by the fines office that are currently in circulation.

The Berlin Police tweeted about the fake e-mails on Friday. "If you have not made an appointment, do not open the attachment under any circumstances," the tweet stressed. "If you are expecting an appointment confirmation, check the date mentioned in the mail before opening the attachment." In addition, the police published a screenshot of a longer fake e-mail which at first glance looks genuine.
