Traffic restrictions for Christopher Street Day on Saturday

On Saturday, the 44th Christopher Street Day takes place in Berlin. Traffic participants must expect restrictions in Mitte, Schöneberg and Tiergarten.

The Christopher Street Day Parade will run from Leipziger Straße through Potsdamer Platz, Nollendorfplatz and past the Victory Column to the Brandenburg Gate. About 100,000 active participants as well as up to 500,000 spectators are expected. The Berlin Traffic Information Center (VIZ) recommends that motorists avoid the city center as far as possible.

Road closures on Friday and Saturday

According to VIZ, the first road closures already took place on Friday morning. The closures of Straße des 17. Juni between Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße and Platz des 18. März as well as Ebertstraße between Dorotheenstraße and Behrenstraße will be set up starting at 8 am. Further closures will take place on Saturday from 6 am on Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse, Straße des 17 Juni to Großer Stern, Leipziger Straße and John-Foster-Dulles-Allee. Großer Stern will also be completely closed from midday until the end of the parade at around 8 pm.

Restricted access at several subway stations

The Berlin public transport company BVG also expects restrictions of public transport due to the large number of visitors. In particular, access restrictions are expected to be put in place at the Brandenburg Gate, Bundestag and Nollendorfplatz subway stations.
