The operators of the capital's airport BER are expecting a lot of traffic over Pentecost.
Up to 280,000 passengers are expected at BER Airport between Friday and Monday, according to a spokesperson for the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Company (FBB). That would be about as many travellers as last over the Easter holidays.
According to forecasts, the Friday before Pentecost will be the busiest day. FBB is expecting 77,000 passengers on that day. Schoenefeld is also expected to be busy on Sunday and during the return traffic on Monday. On these two days, FBB expects 70,000 and 72,000 passengers respectively at BER. Berlin's hospitality industry is also expecting a large number of visitors, but without giving any concrete figures. "Occupancy is expected to be very good in the various segments," said a spokesperson for the Berlin Hotel and Restaurant Association.
