Four weeks after the commissioning of the temporary bridges over the Spree, they have to be routinely inspected. For this purpose, the two structures are partially or completely closed at night.
This was announced by the Senate Department for the Environment, Urban Mobility, Consumer Protection
and Climate Action on Thursday (Feb. 3, 2022). To inspect the bolted connections, the temporary bridge will be completely closed to motor vehicle traffic in the direction of Friedrichshain (towards the city center) between Thursday, February 3 at 8 PM and Friday, February 4 at 6 AM. Cyclists as well as public transport can continue to use the bridge during the inspection work. Motorists will have to use Oberbaum Bridge. The second temporary bridge, which leads out of the city, will not be fully closed: From February 4, 8 PM until Saturday, February 5 at 6 AM, traffic will be restricted to one lane.
