Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) is hosting an open house at the Rotes Rathaus city hall on June 6.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the theme will be "Our City. Our Voice. Our Democracy," according to the Senate Chancellery.
During a tour of the Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall), which is more than 150 years old, visitors will gain insights into the work of the state government. Among other things, they will have the opportunity to view Wegner’s office and the chamber where the Senate meets regularly. Several panel discussions are also planned, featuring the Governing Mayor, Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey, and Senator for Finance Stefan Evers, among others. For the first time, there will also be a children’s press conference with the Governing Mayor.
According to the Senate Chancellery, one of the highlights is the Olympic area in the arcades of the Rathaushof. There, guests can learn about Berlin’s bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. There will also be food and drink available, as well as a music program. Wegner is inviting the public to the open house at the Rotes Rathaus for the second time. The first event, held last June, attracted around 8,300 visitors.
