The GleisBeet community garden is located on the site of the former Wriezener Bahnhof railroad station.
The urban gardening project in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has an area of approximately 1300 square meters and is being renaturalized by the GleisBeet e.V. association together with NaturFreunde Berlin according to the principles of permaculture.
The aim is not only to grow vegetables for personal consumption, but above all to create a functioning ecosystem that provides a habitat for a variety of plants, animals and people.
Anyone interested can join in gardening on Tuesdays in the raised bed, communal bed or neighborhood bed. There is a container on the site for gardening tools and water tanks for the beds. The large activity area offers space to chill out, play and linger.
