POP-KULTUR FESTIVAL

Anushka Chkheidze & Robert Lippok | múm performs “Sonnenuhr”

Berlin’s Pop-Kultur Festival sees itself as a platform for creative ideas, artistic experimentation, and international exchange—it brings the key themes, trends, and talents of Berlin’s music scene to the stage and explores how pop culture shapes society today and tomorrow. This year, the Pierre Boulez Saal will serve as the Festival’s host for one evening. Georgian musician Anushka Chkheidze and German musician Robert Lippok perform a program that deliberately resists easy categorization: situated somewhere between indietronic references, krautrock expanses, and near-sacral ambient spaces, their sound unfolds less as a finished result than as an ongoing search. At its core is a way of working that follows no external logic. This will be followed by Icelandic formation múm for the evening’s second part. Melancholic, fragile, and quietly playful, the group’s music carries the distinct atmosphere of Iceland in a sonic language that unfolds between experimental electronics, fleeting melodies, and immersive spaces. With Sonnenuhr, founding members Gunnar Tynes and Örvar Smárason present a new performative work that combines a string quartet with electronic and acoustic instruments.Tickets are available directly from Pop-Kultur Festival.
