We cordially invite you to visit the BiberAmt—a speculative public agency that explores what it might mean to live in a Berlin that retains water instead of draining it, allows wetlands to flourish, and welcomes beavers into everyday city life.

An office that explores what it means to live in a city shaped by water, wilderness, and beavers. The “BiberAmt” is a speculative public agency. It examines what it means to live in a Berlin where water is retained rather than drained away, where wetlands are allowed to expand, and where beavers are part of everyday urban life.

Visitors are invited to participate in the office as temporary assistants. They will find open files and ongoing administrative tasks related to flooded paths, habitat conflicts, gnawed trees, and similar situations. They can review files, annotate maps, discuss possible measures, sort incoming mail, or observe the office’s daily work.

In addition to the day-to-day work at the BiberAmt, there will also be a series of public events—“The Wet, The Wild, and The Weird”—where visitors, researchers, experts, and artists will come together to discuss specific questions arising from the agency’s ongoing work. Part workplace, part archive, part art installation, and part public interface: The BiberAmt invites visitors to step inside an institution that is learning to live with more water, more wildlife, and greater ecological complexity.

Hours: Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
