Have you always wanted to learn the basics of woodworking? In this workshop, we’ll be creating our own wood inlays. This is the art of assembling very thin pieces of wood into a decorative image: like a mosaic made entirely of wood. Over the first two days, we’ll explore objects from the Museums of Islamic and Byzantine Art. We’ll then focus on creating our own pieces: we’ll cut the veneer and assemble our designs. On the third day, we’ll sand and finish the surfaces.
No prior experience is necessary.
