What can a picture frame reveal about its history? And how is an intricately carved and gilded 16th-century frame restored? For Restoration Day, Bertram Lorenz and Nadin Radecke are opening the doors to their studio. The focus will be on a magnificent Sansovino frame that was discovered in storage and is now set to be used for a perfectly matching painting. Learn more about the frame’s eventful history, its artful craftsmanship, and the techniques used to study and restore it. Afterward, there will be time for questions and further insights into the work of frame restoration.
