Images of the Former Berlin Wall Corridor, 2017–2024
Photographer Thomas Meyer, a member of the OSTKREUZ agency, set out to search for traces of the city’s division in Berlin from 2017 to 2024: Where can the division still be felt in the city today? Where can it still be seen with the naked eye? His color photographs, taken in digital medium format, were created over the course of eight years in various seasons along the inner-city stretch of the Wall. The images depict places that once made history, as well as the disappearance of the Wall. Through the overlapping layers of history and the present, and the traces of Germany’s division in the city, he also documents Berlin’s urban development.
