The painting will be on public display at the Bode-Museum through October. On the first floor of the Federal Chancellery, every former chancellor is immortalized in a painting. Former Chancellor Angela Merkel will soon be added to this gallery.

On View for a Limited Time

The French-German-Canadian artist Jérémie Queyras painted the politician. Completed in 2026, the work is on public display at the Bode-Museum for a limited time before taking its future place in the Chancellery Gallery at the Federal Chancellery. The exhibition offers an opportunity to view the portrait in the museum’s unique setting and to reflect on its artistic design as well as its connection to contemporary history.
