Prospero was once the rightful Duke of Milan, but was overthrown by his brother, cast adrift at sea along with his daughter Miranda, and washed ashore on a seemingly uninhabited island. There, with the help of magic, he has once again established himself as ruler over the beings of this island: the air spirit Ariel and the witch’s spawn Caliban. When a ship appears on the horizon with all his enemies on board, the hour of his revenge seems to have come.

With this production, the NEUE GLOBE THEATER returns to its roots: Elizabethan theater.
