How will we live in the city of the future? "SuperCity 3000: Our city of the future" is dedicated to a highly topical, socially relevant issue, because the design of cities is an urgent challenge of the present that affects all areas of people's lives. Even today, 90 percent of children in Germany live in urban areas. They must therefore be given a greater voice in urban planning.
In the exhibition "SuperCity 3000: Our City of the Future", children therefore had and still have the same rights as adults. Employees of the Deutsches Technikmuseum developed the exhibition together with 60 children, our curators of the future. The models that these children from four Berlin schools built for the exhibition are the focal point of the exhibition space. Innovative ideas and new technical developments that will make life in the city better for everyone in the future are grouped around them on 500 square meters.
The exhibition invites children in particular to participate in the democratic process surrounding the future of the city and opens up perspectives on how this can be achieved from an early age. The future begins now - let's shape it together!
In addition to the hands-on activities in the exhibition, there are bookable workshops for primary school classes and programs for small family groups at weekends and during the vacations.
