The third and final chapter of the exhibition series “Seit…,” developed as part of the 80th anniversary of the Haus am Waldsee, presents new works by artist Sophie Kovel (born in 1996 in Los Angeles; lives and works between Paris and New York) that emerged from her engagement with the site and its history. The exhibition unfolds along the display architecture designed by Nina Akhvlediani in the café, the building’s former garage. In doing so, Kovel turns her attention to the nearby Studio Babelsberg to examine its history of avant-garde, fascist, and socialist ideological image production, as well as the impact and dissemination of media images in the present day.
