Reflections on the Nuba Images and Contemporary Art

This is a conversation between photographer Akinbode Akinbiyi, artist Theo Eshetu, filmmaker Hajooj Kuka and curator Paola Malavassi. They all encountered Leni Riefenstahl’s published photographs of the Nuba people at an early stage and have engaged with them in different ways. They will briefly introduce their own artistic practices and discuss Riefenstahl’s work from the perspective of contemporary art.
