The exhibition Nature… In the Museum showcases beloved works alongside rarely exhibited pieces from the collection, presented in new combinations and complemented by contemporary works. Painter Lizza May David enters into dialogue with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s painting Violette Bäume (1914), while photographic works by Alina Schmuch focus on the museum architecture by Werner Düttmann and its relationship to the surrounding landscape. The landscape architects of atelier le balto, who revitalised the museum garden, are also contributing to the exhibition with a landscape-based hanging of works from the collection, creating connections between outside and inside.

Coinciding with the exhibition, the artistic and climate-neutral educational trail around the museum Art… Beneath Pine Trees will open in the garden, for which seven site-specific works by contemporary artists and collectives are being created.
