To kick off a new exhibition series at the Old National Gallery, the National Museum in Warsaw is visiting Museum Island.

In 1876, the Prussian king ceremoniously opened the Nationalgalerie on Museumsinsel Berlin. Contrary to the inscription on the pediment, ‘To German Art,’ the collection was international from the outset and grew to become one of the most important German collections of French avantgarde art. In its new series ‘InterNationalgalerie’, the Alte Nationalgalerie will continuously invite national galleries and museums from all over the world over the next few years to showcase their collections in a dedicated space at the museum and to introduce themselves to international and Berlin audiences along particularly current themes and questions. The National Museum in Warsaw will kick off the series under the title „Inventing Myths“. The presentation will take place on the 1st exhibition floor.
