The DDR Museum is expanding its mission: the new DDR Museum Depot in Berlin-Marzahn will house one of the largest collections on everyday culture in the GDR. Around 360,000 objects will be collected, preserved and scientifically researched in two halls. Sustainably operated and air-conditioned, the depot offers optimal conditions for the preservation of these important cultural assets.
It is more than just a storage facility: special exhibitions, educational programs and events make the depot a living place of remembrance of history. A new milestone for the preservation and communication of the East German past between 1945 and 1990!
The depot currently opens every 1st and 2nd Sunday.
