BEING LINGUISTIQUE – The Art of Writing – Closing Reception

Performance with Monty Richthofen & Activation with Nadine Fecht

3:00 p.m. – Performance: WHAT WAS NEVER SAID WAS ALWAYS TRUE with Monty Richthofen

On the occasion of the exhibition, in which language—through its connection to artistic practice—becomes a material object of thought and even an aesthetic subject of diverse representations, visitors are invited by artist Monty Richthofen to collectively manipulate language. He will write the result on the wall. This will be followed by a brief conversation with him.

4:00 p.m. – Activation: WE INSIST with Nadine Fecht

Following Richthofen’s performance, artist Nadine Fecht activates the in-situ wall piece “WE INSIST.” The work is both material and linguistic form, and through its spatial legibility, it refers to the social tension between expectation, disappointment, and experience. Is it a statement or a manifesto? The phrase “WE INSIST,” which is also the title of the in-situ wall piece, is repeatedly repainted or overwritten to express a sense of urgency. Afterward, curator Harald F. Theiss speaks with the artist.Translated with DeepL
