In the exhibition, language becomes a tangible object of thought through its connection to artistic practice. It itself becomes an aesthetic subject of diverse representations and also responds to the Hannah Höch Room at the Museum Reinickendorf. Connections can be drawn to everyday language, comics, and graffiti, as well as to advertising and visual and concrete poetry. Colors are replaced by words. This creates a spatial rhetoric that engages the audience. “B E I N G L I N G U I S T I Q U E: Writing About Art” seeks to identify thematic areas in which the artists not only reference the legacy of the avant-garde but also reinterpret it. The exhibition responds to the Hannah Höch Room at the Museum Reinickendorf and connects interior and exterior spaces.

An initiative by Manfred Peckl and René Wirths, curated by Harald F. Theiss.
