Two-Day Workshop | November 7 and 8, 2026 | 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In an age of digital image overload, classical portrait drawing and painting are regaining their appeal. This intensive weekend workshop offers the opportunity to draw and paint expressive portraits. Be inspired by the Gemäldegalerie’s special exhibition, which pairs portraits in surprising combinations—from the Old Masters to Classical Modernism.
Art historian Henrik Engel will provide insight into the exhibition, and under the guidance of artist Birgit Bellmann, participants will create sketches from original works as well as studies of a model from various angles.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced participants. All materials are provided.

Participation fee for both days, including admission: 90 euros
