Was ist das Neue? Und wie kommt es in die Welt? Der 31. ROHKUNSTBAU fragt nach Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Transformation des Bestehenden. „Die Kunst des Überschreitens“ ist das Thema der diesjährigen Ausstellung im Schloss Altdöbern. Die Schau konzentriert sich auf die Perspektive der Handelnden innerhalb einer vor strukturierten Ordnung, kurz: auf die Logik des Überschreitens des Gegebenen hin zu etwas Neuem.
Dabei wird der 31. ROHKUNSTBAU zugleich den berechtigten Zweifel befeuern, ob wirklich alles, was neu ist, auch gleich besser ist und somit das Fortschrittsparadigma der Moderne auf den Prüfstand stellen.
Denn bedeutet die Veränderung zu etwas Neuem notwendig Fortschritt?
Oder ist Veränderung vielleicht lediglich ganz banal das Resultat des Überschreitens auf einem anderen Zustand hin?
Wie wäre dieses Andere dann zu bewerten?
Und wäre es dann notwendig neu?
