Mehr als Artefakte: Ägyptische Objekte erzählen ihre Geschichte

The Grand Egyptian Museum is one of the largest archaeological museums in the world, located near the famous Pyramids of Giza. It houses thousands of artifacts from ancient Egypt, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun, many of which are displayed together for the first time. The museum is designed as a modern cultural hub, combining cutting-edge exhibition technology with research and conservation facilities. It offers visitors a comprehensive journey through Egypt’s history, from prehistoric times to the Greco-Roman period. In this four-part lecture series, Egyptologists present their favourite objects from the newly-opened galleries at the GEM. Aimed at a general audience, each session offers a 45-minute journey through spectacular, unusual, and previously unseen artefacts. This is followed by an open Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the objects that interest them most. The series is a cooperation between the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung Berlin and the Egyptian Cultural Bureau, Egyptian Embassy in Berlin.
