Alpine Skiing in Berlin and Tyrol

Die Ausstellung des MEK präsentiert eine Vielzahl von Objekten und Geschichten

Die Ausstellung des MEK präsentiert eine Vielzahl von Objekten und Geschichten

How does an exhibition about the mountains of Tyrol come into being? What stories lie behind the objects on display? And what connections exist between Tyrol, Berlin and the history of mountaineering?
In this special tandem tour, different perspectives meet. Bernd Schröder from the Berlin section of the German Alpine Club and Moritz Roemer, co-curator of the exhibition "The Mountains of Tyrol", lead a joint tour and speak about their respective approaches to the themes of mountains, mountaineering and cultural history. A particular focus of the tour is the objects from the Berlin section's archive and the stories behind them.
The tour is not only about the exhibited objects themselves, but also about the questions, discussions and decisions that shaped the curatorial process – offering a glimpse behind the scenes and an invitation to discover the exhibition from multiple perspectives.
