Volker Heyn: TRANSFER

ensemble mosaik

An impressive evening, as sensual as it is gripping, in which music, image and song blend together in a unique production: renowned ensemble mosaik presents the premiere of “TRANSFER” in Radialsystem, a new full-length work by composer Volker Heyn - for mezzo-soprano, 14 instrumentalists, electronic feeds, and partly animated video projections. “TRANSFER” references Upton Sinclair’s revealing novel “The Jungle”, published in 1906. Both the novel and the composition expose the unethical practices of industrial meat production, which both migrant work forces and exploited animals are subjected to.

The premiere of “TRANSFER” is a multimedia concert. Animations based upon Heyn’s own drawings are created by media designer Valerie Epet and integrated into the piece’s musical flow. The solo part is performed by soprano Anna Clare Hauf, and musical direction is by Enno Poppe.

Artists/Collaborators: Volker Heyn (Komposition und Zeichnungen), Valerie Epet (Animationen und visuelle Gestaltung (Video-Zuspielungen)), Anna Clare Hauf (Mezzosopran), Enno Poppe (Musikalische Leitung), Karen Lorenz (Künstlerische Leitung), Arne Vierck (Sound/Elektronik), Kristjana Helgadottir (Piccolo/große Flöte), Simon Strasser (Oboe/Bassoboe), Ingolfur Viljamson (Klarinette/Kontrabassklarinette), Martin Losert (Sopran-/Tenorsaxophon), Roland Neffe (Schlagzeug), Ernst Surberg (Klavier und Synthesizer), Nuno Pinto (Gast) (E-Gitarre), Wojciech Garbowsky (Gast), Chatschatur Kanajan (Violine), Karen Lorenz (Viola), Mathis Mayr (Violoncello), Rebecca Lawrence (Kontrabass), Mathilde Conley (Trompete), Weston Olencki (Posaune), Christina Gießmann (Management und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit), Nika Nardelli (Produktionsleitung und Reiseplanung), Eckehard Güther (Sound/Videotechnik)
