Berlin situation report: Incidence still above 1000

Thousands of new infections with the coronavirus are still being reported in Berlin.

In the past seven days, the health authorities recorded 1100.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the Senate's situation report of Saturday (19 March 2022). On Friday, the figure was 1144.9, on Saturday a week ago it was 776. However, the seven-day incidence is currently significantly lower than the national average (1735.0).

Over 839,000 infections since the start of the pandemic

Around 5750 new infections were reported for the capital within one day. Since the beginning of the pandemic about two years ago, more than 839,000 infections have been detected. Four more people died in connection with Corona infections. The number of dead has now reached 4319.
