Anyone who has well-preserved pants, T-shirts, or sweaters to donate can give them to homeless people this coming Monday and Tuesday. The Berlin Transport Authority (BVG), the Johanniter, and the City Mission are launching their winter collection campaign and will be accepting clothing donations at the Gesundbrunnen subway station.
“For the time being, only warm men's clothing, including underwear, sleeping bags, and sleeping mats, will be accepted. Women's clothing is not needed at this time,” the BVG announced. During the summer collection campaign from May to October, 150 large bags full of clothing and everyday items were collected. With the onset of the cold season, the BVG also plans to provide information about the services offered by Kältehilfe Berlin in its stations again: “This will enable people who need support to find out directly and easily where they can get help and a warm place to sleep.”
