Due to construction work on the new Ringbahn bridge, drivers around the Funkturm interchange should expect extensive closures and diversions from 10 p.m. on Thursday evening.
The restrictions are expected to remain in place until 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning, according to the project company Deges. The reason for this is the demolition of the motorway bridge over Halenseestraße Ost, which is currently closed to traffic and is now also being demolished as part of the construction of the new Ringbahn bridge. Motorists are asked to avoid the motorway junction or, if possible, to use other means of transport.
According to Deges, there will be no transition from the A115 motorway to the A100 towards Hamburg, nor will there be an exit towards Halenseestraße Ost/Messedamm. In addition, it will no longer be possible to drive through the city from the south via the A100 and Messedamm.
Vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons must exit at the Schmargendorf junction. From there, take Konstanzer Straße, Brandenburgische Straße, Lewishamstraße, Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße, and Spandauer Damm to the Spandauer Damm junction. Cars weighing up to 3.5 tons remain on the A100.
Traffic will be diverted from the Zehlendorf interchange via the B1 and A103 to the Schöneberg interchange, where it will return to the A100. Cars up to 3.5 tons remain on the A100, while heavier vehicles use the above-mentioned diversion from the Schmargendorf junction. Another alternative, especially for traffic heading northwest, is to exit via the Avus-Rasthof parking lot, Alte Jafféstraße, and Jafféstraße to Heerstraße.
The diversion runs from the Spandauer Damm junction via Königin-Elisabeth-Straße and Messedamm to the Funkturm motorway junction.
