House of Games moves to Friedrichshain

Presentation "House of Games"

The House of Games in Friedrichshain will bring together various representatives of the industry under one roof.

Berlin is getting a new center for the games industry with the House of Games in Friedrichshain.

Around 15,000 square meters are available in a brick building on Rotherstraße in the immediate vicinity of the Warschauer Strasse subway station.

"Berlin must and will be at the forefront"

The location of the long-announced project, funded by the Senate with 4.6 million euros, was announced this morning in the presence of Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) and Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey (SPD). Giffey sees the House of Games as an opportunity to establish Berlin as the leading location for the games industry in Germany. "We see that we have competition from Munich and Cologne, but Berlin must and will be at the forefront and we have to do something about it," said Giffey on RBB-Inforadio.

Opening of the House of Games planned for 2026

The House of Games will bring together established companies and start-ups in the games industry, technology and service providers as well as clubs and associations, cultural and research institutions under one roof. The rooms are not yet available, but the necessary expansion work is expected to begin "soon". The opening of the House of Games has been announced for 2026. In their 2023 coalition agreement, the CDU and SPD agreed to jointly drive the project forward.
