The subway service of the U2 line will be suspended on the section between Senefelderplatz and Klosterstraße over the weekend, BVG announced on Wednesday. There will be a replacement service with buses. From Monday morning, the traffic of the U2 should then run as usual.

Work to stabilize the damaged U2 line subway tunnel at Alexanderplatz is scheduled to begin Friday evening.
Installation of injection lances
According to BVG, so-called injection lances will be installed over the weekend. They will be used to inject liquid cement into the subsoil and thus consolidate it. The work is necessary to raise the tunnel, which has sunk by several centimeters.
Sunken tunnel to be raised
The construction company Covivio is responsible for the work. During the company's construction work for a high-rise building on Alexanderplatz, the subway tunnel had sunk. Since then, trains on the section have only been running on a single track in shuttle service. The company had recently reached an agreement on a restoration concept with the Senate and BVG. BVG assumes that full operation of the U2 on both tracks will not be resumed until the end of August.
